One Miner Dies in Sunshine Silver Mine Accident
An employee, Nick Rounds, 36 died in an elevator accident at Sunshine mine, near Kellogg, in northern Idaho.
IDAHO (Scrap Monster): An employee, Nick Rounds, 36 died in an elevator accident at Sunshine mine, near Kellogg, in northern Idaho.
The Mine Safety and Health Administration said that the miner died about 2 p.m. Monday after becoming caught between a mine shaft and the elevator-like device called a skip.
The spokesperson in Sunshine Silver Mines in Denver, Monica Brisnehan said Tuesday that work has been stopped at the mine due to the investigation by local authorities and the Mine Safety and Health Administration.
The Sunshine Silver Mine is one of the world's largest and most profitable silver mines, having produced over 360 million ounces of silver since 2001.
