$10 Mormon gold coin Grabs $705,000 at Heritage Auction

Among the rarest collection of seven Mormon coins stuck in 1849, $10 Mormon gold coin grabbed $705,000, and a $20 Mormon gold coin sold for $558,000 at an auction staged by Dallas-based Heritage Auctions this week.

SALT LAKE CITY (Scrap Monster):Among the rarest collection of seven Mormon coins stuck in 1849, $10 Mormon gold coin grabbed $705,000, and a $20 Mormon gold coin sold for $558,000 at an auction staged by Dallas-based Heritage Auctions this week.

It is said by coin experts that the gold coins were stuck by Mormon pioneers when they arrived in Utah in 1847. They made the coins for buying goods from the East. Mr. Tyson Emery, a coin expert stated that the coin that is minted by early Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints settlers  

The coin has a series of denominations- $2½, $5, $10 and $20. The antique $10 coin was struck in California gold ore in 1800s has become the rare collection and main attraction of the mint.
