Falls Church, VA (AIIS) - Both the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) and the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) have made affirmative determinations in their separate sunset reviews of the antidumping (AD) orders on welded ASTM A-312 stainless steel pipe from Korea and Taiwan. These orders were originally issued in December 1992. Both agencies conducted expedited reviews with the DOC finding that revocation of these orders would be likely to lead to the continuation of dumping and the ITC finding that revocation of these orders would be likely to lead to the continuation or recurrence of material injury to the domestic industry. As the result of these determinations, the orders on welded ASTM A-312 stainless steel pipe from Korea and Taiwan will remain in place.
Today’s action comes under the five-year (sunset) review process required by the Uruguay Round Agreements Act. The Commission’s public report Welded ASTM A-312 Stainless Steel Pipe from Korea and Taiwan, Inv. Nos. 731-TA-540-541 (Fourth Review), USITC Publication 4687, May 2017, will contain the views of the Commission and information developed during the reviews.
