PARIS (Scrap Monster): Constellium, French aluminium product manufacturer has taken their final decision to invest €15 million for its site situated in Czech Republic, Decin and this will be used for making an automotive aluminium recycling facility.
The company said that the new investment project will future boost its production capacity of high quality alloy products, which is mainly delivered to the European automobile market.
Constellium manufactures products of several tailored alloy dimensions and shapes, according to the customer’s requirement. It is then machined in automobile by its customers. Their extrusion line is functioning at its full capacity in order to cope up with the increasing demand for ABS and ESO aluminium blocks, which is mainly used in the vehicle gear box and car suspensions.
The new project site will build up a new cast house and extrusion line, which is expected to raise the production of hard alloy extrusions by around 10,000 tonnes annually. President of Constellium’s Automotive Structures and Industry business unit, Paul Warton said that the new facility would process and recycle aluminium scrap from Constellium’s key automotive customers in Europe.
