VERMONT (Scrap Monster) : Blu-Bin, Inc announces the opening of its plastic recycling program to all Vermont businesses and organizations interested in increasing the sustainability of their practices. The first participant in this program is the Church Street Ben and Jerry’s, where over a kilogram of waste spoons that previously were headed to the landfill have now been processed and turned into material usable in Blu-Bin's 3D printers.
David Newlands, COO of Blu-Bin, has this to say about the program, “By recycling plastic from the Burlington community we are continuing our push to be a true asset to the innovation culture of Vermont. We already help Vermont companies keep innovating their products through prototyping and short run productions, this program allow us to help them innovate in the way they treat their supply chain.”
Blu-Bin, Inc is a retail 3D printing company that was founded in August, 2012. In its first year of operations it has helped hundreds of people and companies turn their ideas or CAD files into objects. The plastic recycling program joins 3D printing, 3D scanning, and CAD design as technology offerings of Blu-Bin's location at 20 Church Street in Burlington, VT.
